Semnote

Licensing

Semnote source code and Semnote content use different licenses on purpose.

Semnote uses dual licensing.

Source code

The source code is licensed under AGPL-3.0-or-later. That keeps improvements to networked derivatives in the commons instead of turning the hosted version into a private fork.

Content and documentation

Content and documentation are licensed under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0. That fits written material better than software licensing alone.

Embedded code snippets

Code snippets inside documentation are dual-licensed so they can be reused in either software or documentation contexts without ambiguity.

Warranty

Semnote is distributed without warranty. The scaffold keeps that explicit rather than burying it in a footer.
